Beaten, but Not Broken
For thousands of years, those who identify as female have been oppressed and objectified. Once considered a goddess and praised for her ability to give life, the woman is now portrayed as as a sexual object and considered inferior to her male counterpart. The book I'm reading is called The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan, with an introduction by Anna Quindlen. The book is supposed to discuss the woman's long battle with oppression and sexism and provoke change from both males and females. My goal is for my readers to realize the truth as I do.
