Oh how I love controversial topics! In one of my previous posts, a classmate of mine asked me about "Battle of the Sexes". I answered that I didn't like it because it brings out the best opportunities for stereotypical sexist comments. Then I started to think; which gender actually is stronger? Of course, both sexes have their strengths and weaknesses but which one is overall superior?
A couple of months ago, I read a book called The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. A lot of the plot focused on the superiority of women. They were considered more divine because of their ability to create life, their willingness to give their bodies in order to give life, and their ability to bear through the pain of child birth. I found myself agreeing (women are pretty tough cookies). Science has also shown that the part in the brain in charge of rational decision making is larger in female brains then it is in males.
We all know the basic male strengths. Their physical advantages along with the fact that men run most of the governments in the world gives them some major points.
We can argue this topic until our blood runs cold but the answer is simple; neither is better than the other. We all have our strengths and we all have our weaknesses. Those, however, are human traits not specifically geared towards one gender or the other. Our genitals do not define our strength. I feel it's time to put this discussion to rest. There's no winner and there never will be.
****Until Next Time......
